We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineer Powertrain Hybrid Technology to join our busy team based in Woking, Surrey. Principal accountabilities for position Lead the technical assessment, integration and application of appropriate hybrid Powertrain technology. Identify and support the progression of advanced Powertrain technologies within McLaren Automotive. Support hybrid Powertrain design, development and integration activities. Manage the definition and execution of development & validation activities. BoM definition & management - responsible for cost (piece price and investment), quality and timing of components. Manage cross functional team including technical experts, designers, buyers and manufacturing engineers to achieve the above. Extensive supplier liaison across all technical areas including leadership, planning, monitoring and control of suppliers to guarantee project delivery and optimised profits in technical, commercial & performance areas. Review and manage the opening and closure of engineering concerns. Respond to requests for information or specification change with assessment of risk and cost. Control DFM and FMEA as required. Support vehicle development activities. Preparation and presentation of material to support external and internal project status reviews. Knowledge, skills and experience for position Experienced in OEM or tier one system delivery. Low Volume, less than 5000 unit per annum, experience preferred. Management of supplier commercial contracts & deliverables. Knowledge & experience of hybrid Powertrain system modelling for performance, economy & drivability. Proven leadership of an engineering team. Knowledge & working experience of high performance hybrid Powertrain technology, application and supply base. Proficient in the use of calibration / diagnostic tool sets and data loggers. Excellent knowledge of the principles of engine management systems and electronic control communication protocols. Excellent knowledge in control and application of sensors and actuators. Knowledge & experience of full product lifecycle activities including feasibility assessment, concept work, design control, problem control and resolution, cost and weight management, supplier management and series product introduction through a number of product programmes. Chartered Engineer Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree 2:1 or above Personal attributes / behavioural skills for position Strong leadership characteristics at ease leading a team of high performance engineers. Self motivated to deliver excellence. Able to remain focused under pressure. Excellent communicator. Able to motivate and command respect. Capable of representing world class automotive brand. Delivery focused with demonstrable track record of on time delivery.
